Twist, half twist or thumb
- Full twist: the whole grip turns, as on the OEM Sur-Ron and Talaria grips and the Domino.
- Half twist: only the ring rotates, so your palm stays anchored and metering stays precise. The right-hand version has an LED battery indicator for 36V and a button; the left-hand version has a sealed HIGO 3-pin connector.
- Thumb: you set the speed with your thumb and never let go of the bar. Choose the plain thumb throttle lever, the 36V version with indicator and button or the 12 to 84V version with voltage display.
Domino for Sur-Ron and Talaria
The Domino throttle is a short-throw twist throttle with a snappy return and a zero-throttle micro-switch, designed for the Light Bee X, Ultra Bee, Storm Bee and Talaria Sting MX3, and for Bafang builds with an ASI BAC855. Newer Talaria Sting models need adaptation. On a Light Bee X with the factory controller, the Domino adapter cable connects it with no soldering and unplugs just as easily. With other controllers you will often need to re-tune the throttle settings; our workshop can do it as part of controller tuning.
What to check before ordering
Most throttles here use three wires (power, ground and signal) for controllers with an analogue throttle input, so compare the connector with your old throttle. For a Talaria XXX, MX4 or MX5, the OEM Talaria Sting throttle grip plugs straight into the harness, and the Sur-Ron OEM grip is made for the Light Bee X and L1e. Consumers can send back unused throttles in unopened packaging within 14 calendar days.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Domino throttle plug and play on a Sur-Ron?
On a Light Bee X with the factory controller it is, using the Domino adapter cable. On aftermarket controllers the throttle settings often need re-tuning so the signal matches.
Which grip replaces a worn Talaria throttle?
The OEM Talaria Sting throttle grip for the XXX, MX4 and MX5. It uses a Hall-effect sensor and connects to the harness with its round green plug.
Thumb or half twist throttle for an e-scooter?
A thumb throttle lets you control speed without letting go of the bar, while a half twist keeps your palm still as only the ring turns. Both connect with three wires to a controller that takes an analogue throttle signal.
Do you stock the OEM Sur-Ron throttle grip?
Two Hall sensor throttle grips for the Light Bee X and L1e are listed here, including the genuine Sur-Ron OEM grip. When they are sold out, the Domino throttle with its adapter cable fits the Light Bee X.
