In stock

A PAS pedal assist sensor with 12 magnets for electric bikes and conversion kits running a controller with a PAS input, including KT, Lishui, sinusoidal and FOC types. Twelve pulses per crank revolution shorten the response delay and smooth out the electric assistance. The set contains a Hall sensor and a 12-pole magnet ring for the crank spindle. Connection is 3-pin (Vcc / ground / signal) with 5 V power from the controller. Mount it on the left or right side of the bottom bracket.

This PAS pedal assist sensor with 12 magnets is a cadence sensor built for electric bikes and conversion kits whose controller has a PAS input. It works with KT (Kunteng), Lishui, sinusoidal and FOC controllers. In addition, it suits most BBS-type and road conversion controllers with a PAS input.

The set includes a Hall sensor body and a 12-pole magnet ring. The magnet ring mounts on the crank spindle, which sits inside the bottom bracket. Meanwhile, the sensor body attaches to the frame near that same bottom bracket area. Connection is a 3-pin plug carrying Vcc, ground and signal. Power comes from the controller at 5 V, so no separate supply is needed.

This sensor registers crank rotation only. Therefore it belongs to the cadence category and is not a torque sensor. It does not read how hard you push the pedals. Instead, the signal travels straight to the controller in the standard PAS Hall pulse format. Per crank revolution it sends 12 pulses rather than the usual 5, 6 or 8.

Key Benefits

  • 12-magnet resolution – twice as many pulses as 6-magnet sensors, so the controller receives more precise pedalling information.
  • Shorter response delay – assistance engages after a shorter stretch of crank rotation.
  • Faster assist cut-off – when you stop pedalling, the controller recognises the stopped cranks sooner.
  • Rotation direction detection – the sensor distinguishes forward from backward crank movement, which keeps starts smooth.
  • 3-pin connector – the standard Vcc, ground and signal layout, matching controllers with a PAS input.
  • 5 V power from the controller – no separate power source required for operation.
  • Left or right side mounting – choose the position according to frame geometry and free space at the bottom bracket.
  • Broad controller compatibility – runs with KT, Lishui, sinusoidal and FOC controllers.

Who Is This Sensor For?

This sensor is made for electric bikes and conversion kits whose controller has a PAS input. It fits KT (Kunteng) controllers and Lishui controllers. Furthermore, it works with sinusoidal controllers and FOC (field-oriented control) controllers. It also pairs with most BBS-type and road conversion controllers carrying a PAS input.

Riders who electrify a bike themselves choose it regularly. Others fit it when replacing a tired 5-magnet, 6-magnet or 8-magnet sensor. It also helps when assistance kicks in too late or too abruptly. Above all, that difference is felt when starting from traffic lights or on a climb.

The sensor suits both hub motors and mid-drive (centre) motors. That is because the controller processes the signal, not the motor. Displays such as LCD3, 750C or EggRider do not read the PAS signal. They only set and show the assistance level.

Why Choose the 12-Magnet Version?

The main difference from ordinary sensors is the pole count. Twelve magnets deliver a pulse stream twice as dense as a 6-magnet ring. Consequently, the controller reacts after roughly 30° of crank rotation instead of 60°.

That precision changes how the bike feels underneath you. However, it does not change motor power, speed or range. Assistance simply starts and ends closer to the moment you actually turn the cranks. As a result, stop-and-go riding feels less jerky.

Because the ring carries 12 poles, direction recognition also becomes quicker. Rolling the cranks backwards no longer confuses the controller at a standstill. For riders on KT or FOC controllers, that alone justifies the swap.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this sensor work with a KT (Kunteng) controller?

  • Yes, it is designed for KT controllers with a PAS input.
  • The 3-pin Vcc, ground and signal layout matches those controllers.

Is it compatible with Lishui, sinusoidal and FOC controllers?

  • Yes, all three controller families are supported.
  • Most BBS-type and road conversion controllers with a PAS input work as well.

Does this sensor measure pedalling force?

  • No, it registers crank rotation only.
  • It is a cadence sensor, not a torque sensor.

Can I fit it to a mid-drive motor?

  • Yes, it suits hub motors and mid-drive motors alike.
  • The controller processes the signal, so the motor type does not matter.

Which side should the sensor be mounted on?

  • Either the left or the right side works.
  • Choose the side by frame geometry and free space at the bottom bracket.

Does it need a separate power supply?

  • No, the controller supplies 5 V through the 3-pin connector.

Will my LCD3, 750C or EggRider display show the PAS reading?

  • No, these displays do not read the PAS signal.
  • They set and show the assistance level instead.

What does it replace?

  • It replaces worn 5-magnet, 6-magnet and 8-magnet PAS sensors.
  • The magnet ring slides onto the crank spindle in the same position.

With 12 pulses per crank revolution, a 3-pin connector and 5 V power from the controller, this Hall sensor gives KT, Lishui, sinusoidal and FOC systems an earlier, cleaner read of your pedalling. Fit it on the left or right of the bottom bracket and the assistance follows your cranks more closely.
