Sur-Ron faults
and how we fix them
The most common Sur-Ron faults - no power, controller error (limp mode), throttle glitches, battery and BMS problems, water ingress and charging failures. In the FabiRide workshop we run full electronic diagnostics, find the real cause and fix it - from the QS8 connector to a controller (MCU) reflash. Order parts and we ship, or send the bike or part in to us.
Find your symptom - we solve it
Each card shows what you notice and what we do in the workshop. The colour marks urgency - it is a rough guide; only diagnostics give the exact verdict.
No power - will not switch on
What you notice: you flick the switch, the display stays dark, nothing responds, the bike is “dead”.
Measure battery voltage, check the BMS state, connectors and fuses, “wake” the BMS if protection tripped, repair the QS8 wiring harness.
Controller error / “limp mode”
What you notice: it only crawls, power suddenly disappears, an error code on the display, power drops once hot.
Read the error codes, check temperature and phases, retune or replace the controller (Torp, eBMX, SiliXcon) and dial in the parameters.
Throttle glitches
What you notice: uneven acceleration, power “jumping”, the throttle not responding or responding late.
Measure the throttle signal (~0.8-4.3 V), check connectors, replace the sensor or the Domino grip and calibrate the controller.
Battery and BMS
What you notice: sudden shutdown under load, capacity dropping fast, power “cutting out” on a climb.
Measure the voltage of every cell group, check the BMS and balancing, repair or build a new battery pack in our own workshop.
Water ingress
What you notice: faults after washing or riding through water, corrosion in connectors, intermittent glitches.
Strip down, dry out, clean the contacts, seal the connectors and replace corrosion-damaged components so the fault does not come back.
Charging problems
What you notice: will not charge or charges very slowly, the charger flashes an error, charging stops early.
Check the charger and voltage, the charging port and the BMS charge side, restore cell balancing.
Motor faults
What you notice: uneven rotation (“cogging”), odd noises, vibration, lost drive or an overheating motor.
Check the Hall sensors, phases, bearings and connections; replace components or the whole motor based on the diagnosis.

Sur-Ron fault diagnosis table
The most common symptoms in one table. Use it as a starting point; the exact verdict comes from instrumented workshop diagnostics.
Symptom
---
Dark display, no response
Limited power / “limp mode” / error code
Power “jumping”, throttle unresponsive
Sudden shutdown under load
Faults after water or washing
Will not charge or charges slowly
Noise, vibration, lost drive
How diagnostics and repair work
A clear path from the moment your bike or part arrives to the moment it ships back. We always agree the scope and the quote before any work - no surprise invoices.
Intake
You describe the symptoms and when they appear - that is half the diagnosis.
Diagnostics
Error code readout, voltage and signal measurements, connector and phase checks.
Cause + quote
We identify the real cause and agree the work, parts and price before we start.
Repair + test
We do the work and test the result for real, so the fault does not return.
Return
We explain what was done and give a warranty on the work performed.
E-motorcycle specialists - parts shipped EU-wide and worldwide
- Among the first workshops doing custom e-motorcycle tuning and repair.
- The first workshop in Lithuania to officially integrate ASI into Sur-Ron and Talaria and tune the most advanced controllers (MCU).
- A real workshop in Kaunas - our own equipment for electronics, BMS and battery building.
- We serve riders across the EU and worldwide - order parts online and we ship, or send the bike or part in.

The controller shows an error / “limp mode” - can it be repaired or must it be replaced?
My Sur-Ron got into water and now behaves strangely. What should I do?
How does the repair work?
Do you repair all Sur-Ron models?
The battery drains fast or “cuts out” - does the whole pack need replacing?
Can you help if I am not in Lithuania?
Sur-Ron “died”? Let’s find the cause.
Send it in for full diagnostics at the FabiRide workshop and get the bike back on the trail - from power supply to the controller (MCU) and the battery. Work performed and parts fitted are covered by warranty.
The controllers we work with
We tune, program and replace the most advanced e-motorcycle motor controllers in the FabiRide workshop in Kaunas. We work with most controllers on the market, and we program ASI BAC and SiliXcon controllers and match them to any motor so the whole system runs smoothly.
Torp TC500 2.X / TC1000 2.X FOCPlug-and-play power upgrade with Bluetooth tuning - from 25 kW (TC500) up to 60 kW (TC1000).
eBMX X-9000 V3VESC/FOC, up to 50 kW and up to 1600 A burst phase current, IP67 - for high-power builds.
SiliXcon SL / SC / AMRuns on its own platform with the manufacturer’s software. We program and match it to the motor - 18-36 kW.
ASI BAC4000 / BAC8000Race-class FOC controllers, 17-32 kW. We program and match them to any motor.
