SpeedBox 1.1 B.Tuning – the next generation Bluetooth tuning chip for Bosch Gen4 with Smart System engines. It removes the 25 km/h limiter , allows you to set your preferred assistance limit (recommended up to 35 km/h due to the risk of errors) and displays the correct speed/distance data in the SpeedBox app on your phone.
Key benefits
- Real data on your phone: speed, mileage, average/max speed – SpeedBox App.
- Quick ON/OFF: activate WALK (by holding “-“) or – + – + (without WALK).
- Selectable limit: default ~35 km/h, can be changed up to 99 km/h*
- Original connectors: clean plug-and-play installation into the E-Bike Smart System.
* Exceeding 35 km/h increases the risk of error codes – use responsibly.
Compatibility
- Engines: Bosch Gen4 with Smart System (e.g. Performance Line CX Smart System, etc.).
- Displays/controls: smart system environment with WALK function (or – + – +).
- Connectivity: Bluetooth (SpeedBox App: Android/iOS).
How it works
- First activation after installation: go to the menu and set the perimeter of the wheel – this is necessary for all functions to work.
- Activation (when the bike is stationary): briefly activate WALK (hold “-“) → display 3.5 km/h → chip ACTIVE (assist ~35 km/h, limit changeable).
- Switching off: briefly WALK again → 2.5 km/h → returns to 25 km/h. OEM mode.
- Without WALK: on/off – + – + combination.
- Limit change: TURBO → eMTB → TOUR+ → ECO → TOUR+ → eMTB → TURBO, then briefly WALK or turn the rear wheel 360°.
Displayed value = limit: 2.5 = 25 km/h, 3. 0 = 30 km/h, 3.5 = 35 km/h, … 9.9 = 99 km/h.
Stored after ~15 s of inaction.
App (SpeedBox App)
- Live data: actual speed, mileage, average/max speed, session statistics.
- Bluetooth pairing: fast connection, simple settings.
- Note: Accurate readings above 25 km/h are visible in the app.
Installation and use
- Original SpeedBox connectors – connect without twisting the plugs (in the direction of the lock).
- If your bike is brand new, ride ≥10 km before activating the chip.
- After the ride: leave the bike on until the display reads 0.0 km/h and the countdown is over before switching off. Do not remove the display before the end.
Important (right and guarantee)
- Changing the speed limiter is forbidden in public traffic in many places – use it on off-road/private tracks in accordance with local regulations.
- Tuning may affect the manufacturer’s warranty.
- High speeds require the right brakes, tyres and skills.
