SpeedBox 1.0 – chip for Impulse 2.0 engine. When activated, the speed limit of the electric assist doubled from 25 km/h to ~50 km/h.
Note: With an active chip, the speedometer reading is divided by 2 (e.g. if you are travelling at 40 km/h, the display will show ~20 km/h). The display and the trip data will be calculated at the reduced speed.
How it works
- Activation: insert the green wire into the SpeedBox 1.0 connector – the electric assist will work up to ~50 km/h.
- Switching off: insert the red wire into the same connector – the factory limit of 25 km/h is restored.
- Display: when the chip is activated, the speed on the display is halved; this is a normal feature of this model.

Installation
- Disconnect the bike from the power supply.

Legal and safety notes
- Removing the speed limiter is banned on public roads in many countries. Use on off-road/private tracks in accordance with local regulations.
- Such tuning may void the manufacturer’s warranty.
- Higher speeds require the right brakes, tyres and skills.

FAQ
Can I see the exact speed above 25 km/h?
With version 1.0, no; the display will show ~½ the actual speed. If you need accurate readings, choose models with real data indication or an app (if available for your system).
Is the switching instantaneous?
Yes – just insert the appropriate wire (green/red) into the supplied connector.
Will it work with other versions of Impulse?
This model is for Impulse 2.0. For other versions, please contact us – we will check compatibility.
Assembly
When connecting the SpeedBox to your e-bike, you will find colour-coded connectors to make installation very easy. We’ve prepared detailed instructions and videos to make installation easier for you.
If you plan to install SpeedBox on a brand new bike, make sure you have ridden it at least 10 km before the chip is activated.

We do not recommend updating the e-bike software
If you are updating your e-bike’s firmware, first remove the SpeedBox from the e-bike, update the firmware and reinstall the SpeedBox.
