Smart ANT BMS is an intelligent 8S-20S battery management system with active balancing for high power Li-ion/LiFePO₄ packs. The BMS provides discharge, overcharge and short-circuit protection, real-time monitoring and stable operation at high currents: 120 A constant and up to 275 A instantaneous.

Installation guidelines

  • Choose the correct number of S (e.g. 13S=48 V, 16S=60 V, 20S=72 V class).
  • Use wires of appropriate cross-section (8 AWG and larger for high currents).
  • Connect the balancing wires exactly according to the sequence of cells (B-, B1, B2 …).
  • Ensure heat removal and ventilation, and orderly routing of cables.
  • The first start-up should be carried out with a fuse and current/voltage control.

FAQ

Is it suitable for a 72 V (20S) system?
Yes, this model supports 8S-20S, so it is also suitable for 20S (≈72 V) packs (Li-ion/LFP).

How is active balancing better than passive balancing?
Active balancing moves energy between cells rather than burning it in the heat – smoothing and preserving Wh faster.

Can I use it with powerful controllers (BAC, KO, EBMX)?
Yes – it is important that the current limits do not exceed the BMS specification.
